When ER24 and other services arrived at the accident scene on the R40 in Riverside they found a man lying in the road. According to Russel Meiring, the spokespers­on for ER24, the emergency services arrived at 07:24.

The light motor vehicle that had hit the man was parked a short distance away.

3 eBundu Lodge co-owner convicted of fraud

The owner of the well-known eBundu Lodge, Albert Sibusiso Tshabalala (42), was convicted of three counts of fraud in the Nelspruit Commercial Crimes Court on Monday October 11, and his wife was acquitted. In a statement the Mpumalanga NPA’s spokespers­on, Monica Nyuswa, said Tshabalala and his wife, Ntombizodw­a Katlego, had been charged, along with their company, Chuma Investment­s, with four counts of fraud and four counts of money laundering.

Following a hit-and-run incident on Friday October 8, a 50-year-old man appeared in the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court on October 11 on multiple charges. He allegedly hit a child with his bakkie in Mostert Street and fled the scene.

White River resident, who wished to remain anonymous, went to the White River Post Office on October 26 to enquire about several issues regarding his mail. According to the article of 2019, the resident went on a tour through the post office and was shocked when they stumbled upon two somewhat entreprene­urial employees plucking chickens in the mail sorting room.
