With the final exams coming up, how do you cope with stress?
I try to limit my social media usage, just to prevent overstimulation. At a time when my head is filled with a lot of information, I also try to spend a lot of time with my friends or outside to get a bit of vitamin D.
Do you enjoy travelling?
Yes, I do. I am originally from eSwatini, so I have been traveling from a young age. Our family would also go overseas roughly every two years, but that has been limited now because of Covid-19.
What are your plans for matric vacation?
Since I was young and especially after last year’s outbreak, I had never planned to go to Plett Rage. I am planning on spending my holiday in the Cape; places like Hartenbos, Cape Town, Stellenbosch and George.
This will also be in preparation for when I go to Stellenbosch to study.
Thrifting has become quite popular recently. Do you thrift and what are some of your favourite spots?
I am an avid supporter of thrifting as opposed to online clothing stores; I do not find their practices ethical. I believe that the environmental and ethical benefits of thrifting are on par with the thrill of knowing that you are wearing something just a bit different from those around you. Some of my favourite places are the CANSA charity shop in Sonpark, Love from the Attic in White River and also the White River SPCA’s charity shop, Barking Bargains. Spending money somewhere and knowing it goes towards a worthy cause is another additional benefit. Let your voice be heard. Send us your opinion on a hot topic. Add a photo and your contact details.
