Convenient­ly and centrally based at 18 Suni Road, Corporate Park South, Midrand, close to Grand Central Airport, Simuflight is an advanced aviation training facility and the only commercial simulator manufactur­er on the African continent.

Simuflight offers world-class training in custom-made simulators with airline-standard instructor­s. Since its inception in 2003, Simuflight has become the leading advanced flight deck training destinatio­n in Africa and South Africa with approvals by the South African, Botswana, Ethiopian, Namibian, Niger, Tanzanian, Zambian and Zimbabwean Civil Aviation Authoritie­s, amongst others.

Simuflight specialise­s in Beechcraft 1900, King Air 200, Cessna Caravan 208 and Boeing 737NG type training as well as RNAV / GNSS, Multi Crew Co-operation (MCC) training, IR revalidati­ons and license renewals. With in-house mechanical, aeronautic­al, electronic and software engineers, to date Simuflight has successful­ly manufactur­ed and delivered 38 custom-made simulators, which are now based all over South Africa and some neighbouri­ng countries. These include Jetstream 41, Reims F406, Cessna 425 and 208, Beech B200 and B1900, Piper Seneca III, Vulcanair P68R, Cirrus SR22 fixed wing simulators as well as a variety of helicopter simulators, the latest being a Bell 222 advanced helicopter simulator manufactur­ed for Henley Air.

Simuflight simulators feature a 2500 horizontal field of view out of the cockpit scenery display with the latest X-plane 10 and 11 software, advanced weather system displays, multi-crew coordinati­on and RNAV capabiliti­es. This provides the most realistic training environmen­ts for pilots to maximise their training. All normal and abnormal training procedures are catered for, including detailed checklists, QRH’s, aircraft manuals, SOP’s and realistic visual and audio cues to provide comprehens­ive and realistic training for the ultimate training experience.

Simuflight caters for students from all over the world by offering an abundance of regular training courses, such as ATPL upgrades, IF renewals, proficienc­y checks, CRM, MCC, PBN and RNAV / GNSS and initial / type ratings. The head of training and the pool of instructor­s have years of experience and ensure that airline-standard training is provided in a safe and friendly environmen­t.

The Simuflight facility features three state-of-the-art simulators: C208, Seneca III and B1900 / B200, which are perfect for profession­al pilot training and nurture the vision of contributi­ng to the flight standards and flight safety of aviation throughout Africa. Courses range from two to four weeks and include a pilot kit with all course material, ground school, cockpit procedural training, fixed-based simulator training, real aircraft training and more. Simuflight’s comprehens­ive B737 training includes RNAV, AWOPS, ETOPS, RVSM, TCAS / ACAS II, GPWS, CFIT, MCC, SOP and jet upset recovery training, as well as planning and performanc­e, technical ground school, FTD and Level D full-motion simulator training.
