L’ETAPE SOUTH AFRICA
DREAM COME TRUE
Finally, South Africans have the chance to experience the Tour de France in their own backyard. KwaZulu-Natal will host the first ever L’Etape South Africa, a single-stage race that mirrors a Tour de France stage. This one will be a 160km grind around the Midlands area, with an elevation of 1 630m and taking in such sights as the Spring Grove Dam, Giants Castle and Mooi River. Riders will be competing for yellow, white and polka dot jerseys, just like at the Tour de France. The overall winners in both gender categories will win an all- expenses- paid trip to ride the real L’Etape, in France.
