Bibs... For Girls!
As at home on- road as it is off, the Enjoy Fitness women- specific ProXision bibshort is world- class – and it’s made right here in South Africa.
PRO INPUT
With input from the likes of Candice Neethling, Robyn de Groot and Vera Adrian, three of Africa’s most decorated women mountain bikers and all with slightly different body proportions, Enjoy Fitness have fine-tuned their women-specific ProXision bibshort where it matters: in construction, fit, and of course the all- important chamois.
CRISS- CROSSING
The most obvious difference between the men’s and women’s ProXision bibshort is the ‘cross back’ bib design used in the women’s version. Instead of running parallel, the straps cross each other at the rear, reducing the amount of material used and allowing the straps to ride wide of the breasts to minimise chafe.
LYCRA LOVE
Manufactured in Salt River, Cape Town, the ProXision range is sewn using flat- lock stitching from two types of Italian Lycra: thicker ‘ Sustain’ Lycra is used on hard- wearing panels, such as the sit- bone section, while lighter ‘Aluna’ Lycra is used on the legs.
Ricky Lawrence, Enjoy’s owner and creative head, explains that the beauty of these Italian Lycras is that they’re both strong
and light – cheaper Lycras require thicker (and therefore heavier) construction to achieve the equivalent durability that the ProXision offers.
CLASSIC GEOMETRY
Enjoy’s women’s geometry is more on the traditional side of things, with leg length midway down the thigh – so it’s not quite a hotpant! Generous silicone end grippers wrap around the leg, ensuring a secure, seamless fit. The ProXision’s 4D chamois, featuring antibacterial treatment, is imported from Italy – with ‘4D’ signifying its construction, being from four different foam densities, to maximise comfort. In terms of design, Enjoy have favoured subtle cues that complement each bibshort’s matching ProXision jersey. They’re also available in plain black.
