We’re pretty lucky in South Africa when it comes to the weather. Unlike in Europe, where you have to be super-dedicated (or a bit crazy) to ride year-round, our winters are relatively mild.

But you still need the right gear if you’re going to enjoy heading out. The Highveld serves up finger-freezing mornings, and rain can arrive out of nowhere in the Western Cape.
