CHATTER MATTERS

-

Riding bikes together can be terribly social; but that also leads to cycling’s antisocial image.

On the road, it isn’t always safe to ride close enough to chat, and nothing is more frustrating than missing half of every sentence as the wind steals syllables willy-nilly at 30km/h. Keep the talk for the coffee shop, or when road conditions (yellow lines, etc) allow for sideby-side conversations.

Chatter matters 2.0: if you’re an early rider, be aware that you’re awake and cycling when the normal world is still asleep. So, shouting to make yourself heard above the rushing wind is likely to wake the neighbourhood. “Bloody selfish cyclists!” Sound familiar?
