KOMBI THE BUZZ WORD
The main buzz in the industry this week is … the buzz, the Volkswagen ID Buzz to be precise. Okay, it might not be the main talking buzz, but VW has confirmed the classic Kombi will make a return in 2022. However, the only thing it has in common with the iconic original is really the twotone paintwork, although the design theme is instantly recognisable. And there will be no chug-chugging from the Beetle engine in the rear — the ID Buzz will be all-electric. It will follow the launch of the ID electric four-door hatch.
Still with electric vehicles, Nissan has released a few teaser images of its second generation Leaf, which will get its global unveiling next month. The company says the design of the new model is inspired by aircraft wings, although conversely it says the car is lower to the ground with a design that reduces lift and improves the distance it can travel on a single charge.
