SIU seized R280m for return to state

The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) had recovered R280m for the state between 2011-12 to date, the Presidency said in a statement following Friday’s meeting between President Jacob Zuma and unit head Andy Mothibi. In addition, the Asset Forfeiture Unit in the National Prosecuting Authority had completed 389 forfeiture cases to the value of R350m and 326 freezing orders to the value of R779m.
