Shaft-sinking equipment on auction
Park Village Auctions (PVA) will soon make available assets of the internationally acclaimed pioneers of vertical sinking shafts, Shaft Sinkers (Pty) Ltd.
The sale falls under the auspices of PVA’s business rescue division, which specialises in facilitating sales to help businesses experiencing difficulties raise liquid capital.
PVA’s LeRoy Augustyn said that most companies that fall under this banner are simply in need of a capital injection to continue operating and therefore represent an excellent opportunity for investors.
“We expect to see a good showing at the upcoming sale. The assets and parts up for grabs will naturally appeal to those involved in mining and engineering, and further represent a great opportunity for those who run metal salvage, recycling and recovery operations as well,” said Augustyn.
Assets that will go under the hammer include five Compair L250-7 air compressors, assorted 800, 2,000, 2,500 kVa transformers, a 30-ton overhead crane, winder motors, winder drum halves, welding machines, high-pressure washers, bull bearings, steel containers, sheaves, lathes, pedestal drills, hydraulic power packs, hydraulic presses, milling machines, work benches, tool boxes and assorted shelving.
Under the banner of spare parts are: winder control panels, lashing unit gearboxes, lashing gear brakes, electric motors, crossheads, hydraulic cylinders, sheave wheels, cactus grabs, S40 drill parts, loader tracks, ventilation fans, winder spare parts, hydraulic hoses, and batch plant spares.
Vehicles to be auctioned include two 2010 Hino 5001626 rigid trucks, seven 2011 Toyota Hilux 2.5 D4D LDVs, three 2010 Mazda BT50 2.5TDI LDVs, a 2012 Toyota Quantum 2.7 minibus, five 2012 Ford Ranger 2.5 LDVs, a 2006 Tata 713 rigid truck, a 2007 Toyota HiAce minibus, an Iveco minibus, a Volkswagen Transporter minibus, dismantled drill rigs, underground load haul dumpers, a Manitou MVT 675 telescopic forklift and a Tandano SWL 20-ton mobile crane.
Finally, assorted office furniture including desks, chairs and filing cabinets, and computers will also be on the block.
The auction will start at 10.30am on October 4 at Rand Yard, Main Reef Road, Randfontein. Viewing will be at the same venue on October 2 and 3 from 9am-4pm.
