The right to fight for our country is worth it

-

I AM PROUDLY South African there is no shame, I love my country It is not a game. We can’t fool around with it, We can’t treat it badly, For it is our home and We only get one, sadly. Equalisation, Discrimination and a Rainbow Nation, These are all part of our history. We learn from the past And embrace the future mystery. But why are we still making the same mistakes, Have we forgotten what we’ve gone through? No, That can’t possibly be true. Yet it is, I see women walking around without a home Their faith their only protection. Wasn’t that supposed to change When we had our democratic election? I guess not, for our president has abused our country, Abandoning his responsibility and the rightful immortality of peace. I hope he realises the hurt he has caused, Our presidential system has flaws. No country is perfect, no person either, But we all have a right and that right is to fight, For our country is worth it! I can’t believe I still see so many people without a job, So many children without an education The best our government has done, Has been to rob! Rob us of our rights, rob us of our money, Rob the better life that child could’ve had. That is not fair or ideal, For every child should have a decent meal. Nelson Mandela is a great example, For he created a whole new generation, A group of people he called the peaceful organisation. These people are just like you and me, They have hopes, dreams and desires, They were taught to love not to hate, They were taught not to destroy but create. With one simple action You can do the world good, For you have the power and capability, So you should. Go pick up that packet on the ground, For you can, you are not bound. Bound to the darkness, you have a home with a light, Nothing will be able to give you a fright. Some aren’t so lucky, They have little sunshine in their life And sometimes that sunshine Can stab them in their back, with a knife. So appreciate what you have, Some aren’t so hopeful They fail at one task And become doubtful, Their days become a spiral Only going down, Until they reach the end, They still don’t make a sound.
