Bail for woman accused of plotting to kill husband
THE CASE against a Kenilworth woman accused of plotting to kill her husband may be heard in the Western Cape High Court.
Petina Coetzee, 44, was released on R30 000 bail during an unopposed bail application in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Strict conditions of her release include reporting to the Elsies River police station twice a day, not speaking to any witnesses involved in the case, staying at a pre-approved address, handing over her travel documents and not leaving the province without permission.
Coetzee was arrested in a sting operation in the parking lot of the Lansdowne station a week ago, where she allegedly handed over an undisclosed amount of money to the “hitman”.
Her husband, Austin Coetzee, with whom she has three children, expressed shock after learning of the alleged plans.
Austin Coetzee’s attorney, Geoff Carter, said his client was not aware of the latest developments.
The case will be heard on December 2.
