VALENTINE’S Day comes around once a year and it’s the one day you’re obligated to spoil the special someone in your life. It also happens to be a day where a thousand Valentine’s specials pop up, making it hard to choose the best way to spoil your partner. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Cape Point Vineyards Picnic: Cape Point is one of most scenic locations in Cape Town and there’s no better way to spoil your significan­t other than with a picnic on the vineyard which has a spectacula­r view. At R395 a basket, you and your special someone can watch the sunset. The basket doesn’t include wine but you can bring your own at a R65 fee. Valentine’s Day at the opera with Rigoletto: What can be better than Valentine’s Day at the opera with sushi and champagne? For one night only you can enjoy this special evening with a platter of fresh sushi accompanie­d by a glass of chilled champagne served in a Valentine`s Day-themed opera bar during an extended 30-minute interval. Mirage 760 Valentine’s Cruise: Going on a yacht is something many people want to experience sometime and Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to do that – under the stars. On the Mirage 760, you will enjoy an evening of elegance where you will be welcomed aboard with a glass of Graham Beck MCC. Valentine’s Day at HQ: For those who want to spend the day of love in a more traditiona­l way can book a table at HQ Restaurant in the Cape Town CBD. At HQ, first dates and engaged and married couples are welcome to treat themselves and their special person to a glass of Pierre Jourdan bubbly on arrival and HQ’s famous salad, steak and chips, followed by a dessert-tasting plate to share. 12 Apostles Hotel & Spa: Sporting one of Cape Town most glorious views, the 12 Apostles Hotel & Spa is sure to make the most the romantic day of the year extra special. Two Oceans Aquarium: Last on our list is the Two Oceans Aquarium which hosts an annual Valentine’s dinner where guests can experience a romantic night beside a marine display. They have a variety of options to choose from. These include the Atlantic Ocean Gallery at R1 300 a couple, I&J Ocean Exhibit at R1 600 a couple, I&J Ocean Exhibit Underwater Tunnel at R1 900 and the Tranquilli­ty Private Dining Room at R3 500 a couple.
