Cape Town Prawn Festival

AS the Summer of Champions draws to a close there’s chance for one final feature race fling with the annual Cape Town Prawn Festival taking place at Kenilworth Racecourse on February 25.

One of the more eagerly awaited culinary delights on the Cape Town calendar, racegoers can get their hands on a special offer of R169 per kg of prawns including sauce and rice or chips.

The horseracing highlight on the day will be the running of the Vasco Prix Du Cap (Gr 3) contest for fillies and mares over 1 400m with a stake of R250 000 on offer. General access to Kenilworth Racecourse on the day is R30 for adults, which earns an automatic entry into the lucky draw, and Under-18s get in for just R10.
