ANC must remember that what you sow you shall reap

-

VERBAL diarrhoea is a symptom of intellectual poverty.

SA must be careful who whispers in its ear. Many people were killed due to being falsely accused of being witches. Justice Pius Langa’s brother – a freedom fighter – was killed because he was wrongfully painted as a traitor. The ANC is masterful in attacking the integrity of those who disagree with them in opposition to the pronouncement of Tata Madiba who said we should engage our opponents in dialogue so they can realise the poverty of their ideas.

Gangsters say: “When I do good no one remembers but when I do bad, no one forgets”. Yes, there is good and bad in all of us and we honour the sterling work of Helen Zille but we can’t digest her current utterances even though Mandela admitted colonialism was good and many Africans say apartheid was better than democracy and we can’t draw any parallels to justify subjugation, marginalisation, discrimination and disenfranchisement. Hypocrisy lies in not what is said but who says it.

As we celebrate the achievements of the ANC; we have to oppose the economic junk status fallacies propagated by people like minister “ANC does not need your dirty vote” Nomvula Mokonyane who reminds us of Xhosa Prophetess Nongqawuse whose prophecies resulted in famine.

We need to realise that what you sow you shall reap. Ask Dr Blade Nzimande who burnt UKZN’s library, and #FeesMustFall has done the same to him. The same intolerance shown against Mandela at the ANC NEC in 2002 when he spoke out against Aids policy in the presence of Mbeki is the same fate we are experiencing now under Zuma.
