Celebrities commit to ‘Bully Proof’

- Lonwabo Marele

THE JAG Foundation has introduced a charity campaign to raise awareness about anti-bullying.

The anti-bullying campaign, “Bully Proof”, is a celebrity profile boxing, charity event, inclusive of media coverage that will see

celebrities from Top Billing, The Man Cave Show, KFM, Espresso,

Isidingo, Selimathunzi and e.TV take part and produce episodes of a documented reality series.

The celebrity contenders are trained for 12 weeks, building up to the fight spectacle set for Saturday, from June 10, at the Zip Zap Circus Dome in Cape Town.

The Bully Proof process consists of several phases and features, namely pre-fight build-ups and documentation, fight night highlights, entertainment acts and an after-party exclusive.

There were three prior events which have grown remarkably. The last event was held at the Trinity Super Club, hosting over 900 attendees. Among them, a high calibre of celebrities and sporting names appeared.

Chad Thomas, the event co-ordinator for Bully Proof, said: “We’re looking at reaching a target of 1 200 but we may reach a potential of 1 500 attendees.” This year’s contenders include

Top Billing’s Jade Hubner, taking on actress and presenter Nicole Bessick.

In the line-up will be Espresso’s Ewan Strydom, Carl Wastie (Radio Host), Siv Ngesi (Man Cave Show), Sunil Osman (comedian), Johry Batt (Men’s Health), DJ Warrick Warras (Man Cave Show), Maurice Paige (Isidingo), K2 Twins (MMA elites) and more.
