Baby’s body found in plastic packet

THE BODY of a newborn baby has been found in a plastic packet under a tree near a shopping mall in La Lucia, north of Durban, paramedics said.

“The gruesome discovery was made by an onsite security guard who alerted the Marshall Security emergency contact centre. “Crisis Medical paramedics were dispatched to the scene and confirmed the body to be that of a newborn baby,” Crisis Medical said.

The scene had been secured and handed over to the police for further investigation, the statement said.
