- Lonwabo Marele

THEY’RE hotter than melted chocolate, and this Cape Town band is just as addictive with 4 million YouTube views.

Newly formed No Method comprises Sam World (composer and DJ) and Claire Rose (singer/songwriter).

World, originally from Iraq, moved to Doha, Qatar, when he was 13. At the age of 16 he became a DJ.

In 2014, at the age of 31 he moved to Cape Town to further his career in music production. He then set up a home studio in Parklands.

Rose, 19, also from Cape Town, heard World’s work online and contacted him via Facebook, sending him a sample of her previously recorded tracks.

They met late last year, and World produced a song for Rose. Afterwards they worked on an EP, and then decided to form No Method.

Lauren Naidoo, their public relations manager, said: “No Method’s hit single

Let Me Go has been going viral locally and globally, especially in Turkey.

“They work hard. Claire is still is dealing with exams, but still makes time for her music. Sam works in the studio until 6am,” she added.

No Method’s music is a fusion of pop

and electronic dance, and is influenced by genres and sounds from around the world.

Let Me Go has been a sensation online, with more than 100 000 views daily in the last week, with just fewer than 200 000 Shazams, and more than 4 million hits on YouTube in three months.

It has been number one for three consecutive weeks on the top 30 SA Charts on 5FM, as well as on Good Hope FM. It is being played by East Coast Radio, Heart FM and KFM.

The hit single has recently broken into European charts, and has attracted licensing deals in Turkey, Russia and Bulgaria.
