School grateful for education gifts

- Okuhle Hlati

PUPILS at Sobambisana Primary School in Site B, welcomed a couple of visitors who had a special delivery, with songs and jubilation.

Packaging company Neopak’s representatives visited the school in Khayelitsha to deliver educational materials which are part of their yearly donations to the Grade R pupils. The pupils have been in need of learning materials such as maths kits for five months. In February a fire gutted two Grade R classrooms, a storeroom and toilets. Furniture and learning materials went up in flames. The water used to douse the fire also damaged the furniture.

School principal Mvuyisi Damba said they did not expect such generosity but were grateful someone noticed their needs.

“We decided to have a small thank you programme for Neopak. The Grade Rs joined other pupils to sing and dance for them.”
