- Staff Reporter

BOSTON City Campus and Business College has appointed Dr Linda Meyer as deputy academic head.

In her new post, Meyer hopes to encourage students to be discerning when it comes to choosing their tertiary education study options.

Meyer’s appointment by the private higher education institution, which has 46 centres throughout South Africa, is a high point in her own academic list of achievements, which includes a PhD in management of technology and innovation, a doctorate in business administration (DBA) as well as an MBA, BBA, PGDip and various diplomas and certificates.

“It’s not just for the love of learning, but for the love of students that I continue studying. It’s important to stay current and to impart current knowledge to our students. In today’s knowledge-driven economy, current knowledge is a powerful commodity,” said Meyer.

In her new post, Meyer will be responsible for a number of academic portfolios and operational areas such as student registration, product development and driving innovative ways to deliver modes of delivery to students in Boston’s Higher Education division”.

She will also be responsible for “continual reviewing of student support services and structures, to ensure that students succeed in their studies”.

“Given the current economic climate and unemployment rate, times are particularly challenging for students and their families. We need to ensure that we support every student through their personal challenges to reach their full potential,” said Meyer.
