Don’t miss Omni’s latest auction event

AFTER Omni’s inaugural premium auction in April, Capetonian­s can look forward to a second instalment on July 25 and 26, which includes over 700 lots of paintings, furniture, decorative arts, jewellery, watches, silver and books.

On offer will be works by Irma Stern, JH Pierneef, Keith Alexander as well as sculptures by Lippy Lipschitz and Eduardo Villa.

Three never-before-seen works from Cape Town artist Peter Clarke will be up for grabs, with estimates from R80 000 to R250 000, as well as a work titled by Nelson Makamo.

Makamo recently held a sold-out exhibition at the Gallery Of African Art during the Mayfair Art Weekend in London.

Omni’s auction will take place over two days, with the first session starting with a collection of over 160 rare books and manuscript­s from a private collector.

From first editions through to handwritte­n manuscript­s, including and by Alfred Pratt , there is plenty on offer to excite collectors.

Within the decorative arts on offer, there is an opportunit­y to own a large Lenci figure

designed by Helen Konig Scavinior a Rene Lalique Opaque Vase.

A sparkling collection of editioned Swarovski Crystal figurines will also be on offer.

Furniture collectors are in for a treat with both local and internatio­nal furniture, dating from the 18th century through to the 20th century will be offered, including a vintage leather Chesterfie­ld sofa, a set of 12 walnut Chippendal­e-style dining chairs and a French 18th century chestnut armoire . Enthusiast­s can look forward to perusing a collection of watches by premium internatio­nal brands like Tag Heuer, Panerai Luminor, Patek Philippe, Chopard, Cartier and Rolex, while a large heartshape­d tanzanite and diamond pendant is sure to delight a few women.
