Mandela funeral abuse must be punished
MVEZO Komkhulu (The Great Place): We wish to express our utter indignation and dismay at the allegations of corruption with regard to President Nelson Mandela’s funeral arrangements. We were briefed this morning at a special council meeting of the King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality on the report of the public protector.
We find it incredible that while we, as a family, a nation – and indeed the world – were mourning the loss of our elder, icon, leader and statesman, some people were allegedly conniving to profit financially by shamelessly siphoning off of funds or alternatively allegedly not observing good governance in terms of following due protocol, observing delegations or mandates.
Whatever the reason, it must be tested and tried in a court of law ensuring that the criminal justice system takes its course and, should the allegations be found to be true, the guilty parties should face the full wrath of the law.
It is unfathomable that a legacy built on principled action, integrity and a high degree of ethical Michelle Mich Hendricks: So sad!

Shahida Rahman: Congratulations, reach for the stars! Mega Martin: Congrats, sir! Audrey Pigden: Well done! standards should be so sullied and allegedly be associated with such criminal intent.
We trust that this matter will be dealt with and if anyone is found guilty that they be duly charged.
We endeavour as the royal house of Mandela to uphold the best of what uNkosi Dalibhunga stood for and ensure that his legacy lives on and that the dream never dies.
