Puberty isn’t only reason you get acne, says expert
MOST teenagers suffer from acne problems when they reach puberty. Treating it while still young is recommended so there is no worrying about it during adulthood.
We answer some of your acne-related questions:
What causes acne?
It’s important to note that acne is not caused only by puberty, but other manageable factors such as:
Not cleaning your make-up brushes. Sleeping with make-up on. Not changing your pillowcase and face towel often enough. Putting fingers on your face. Being a sun worshipper. Using too many medications and over-cleansing.
Only treating your skin from the outside.
How can one get rid of acne?
Treating acne is not an overnight thing, its treatments can make your skin dry but using a good moisturiser every day can help your skin feel a whole lot better.
Here’s what you can use to treat acne:
Oatmeal mask: Good for dry as well as acne-prone skin. The starch in the oatmeal absorbs excess oil while also soothing sensitive skin.
Aloe vera: Applying aloe vera on your skin helps fight acne by soothing it.
Honey: Masking your face with honey helps fight infections caused by acne.
Moisturiser: This is a bit tricky, but rather choose a moisturiser that is oil-free and non-comedogenic. This will help to avoid being greasy and clogging pores.
