team of the WEEK

SIPHESIHLE NDLOVU won his third manof-the-match award in four games after leading Maritzburg United to a 3-0 win over Free State Stars in Bethlehem on Saturday. The pint-sized midfielder has been one of the PSL’s most consistent players this season. He is the conductor of the Team of Choice orchestra that’s producing sweet music under Fadlu Davids. Ndlovu grafts for his teammates and is able to start attacks with his good passes. He makes our Team of the Week following an entertaining weekend of football that was full of intrigue, beautiful goals and heated clashes.

Khama Billiat showed his class in Mamelodi Sundowns’ 3-0 win over Platinum Stars at Loftus on Saturday. Billiat’s brace, two well-taken free kicks, and his performance in that match pushed the club’s fans to urge the Brazilians’ management to give the Zimbabwean whatever he wants to end the impasse in his contract negotiations. Billiat leads our attack with Kaizer Chiefs’ striker Ryan Moon. The lad from Pietermaritzburg once again inspired Amakhosi to a come-from-behind victory against a team from Limpopo.

Supporting the two strikers is a midfield that’s led by Teko Modise. The General dictated terms in the iKapa derby between Cape Town City and Ajax Cape Town. Modise sprayed passes with ease to setup his teammates. The scoreline could have been more than 1-0 had his teammates been more clinical.
