Let us build… not destroy
WE have just crossed a threshold which theoretically holds the key to economic revival, job-creation and prospects for prosperity long last seen in this country.
This is thanks to the likes of ANC politicians who have had the gumption to apply principles of integrity, and voted into power those who will address all the ill-gotten gains derived through corruption, primarily at the expense of the poor.
Thanks too to those representing various civil society bodies and groups, whose persistence has led to the demise of implicated perpetrators within government and state institutions.
And let us not forget the judiciary, the pillars of moral stature, for their role in laying the foundation for the “new dawn” as alluded to and orchestrated by Cyril Rhamaposa.
Already the signs are there in terms of financial markets reflecting growth in both business and consumer sentiment, the very essence in influencing investment prospects, real growth and opportunities for uplifting many facets within our economic hub.
Along comes Julius Malema. His utterances in blindly pursuing his policy of land grabbing will have absolutely the opposite effect on the aforementioned.
Surely those who have initiated the far-fetching political changes we see unfolding, cannot allow one individual, leader of a paltry organisation, to hold the ruling party and others to ransom in pursuing his skewed revolutionary and ego-driven agenda?
Let us therefore build on the principles and intent evolving and being applied, and resolve issues rationally and logically, including addressing injustices of the past, but with the goal to enhance a better life for all! Let us leave a promising legacy for our children and their children, and not one of ravages and despair.
