Some of the roads due to be closed are Longmarket Street eastbound between Adderley and Long Street; Burg Street, northbound between Church and Longmarket street; and, in Burg Street northbound, full closure at Hout Street.

The concert takes place tomorrow in Greenmarket Square and is free and open to the public.

The line-up includes Claire Phillips, Jarrad Ricketts, DJ Eazy, Alistair Izobell and The Soil.

Meanwhile, it’s all systems go for the Jazz Festival and a public debate will be held tomorrow to discuss jazz and the gender question – including the media portrayal of women in music.

The debate will also be looking at jazz history and literature, and the stereotypes that often govern popular perceptions of “men’s music” and “women’s music”.

The panel for the 2018 CTIJF Public Debate will be drawn from jazz, journalism and gender studies.

Among them are Gwen Ansell, Nomfundo Xaluva, Nicky Schrire and Percy Mabandu.

The event will take place at the Artscape Opera Bar, Cape Town, tomorrow from 1:30-3:30pm.
