DA Western Cape leader Bonginkosi Madikizela, who was first touted to take over from De Lille, is out of the running as he is a candidate to take over from Zille. THE Department of Home Affairs confirmed that all its systems were back online following a power outage.

“Once power was restored at Sita (State Informatio­n Technology Agency), we began testing applicatio­ns on our systems, including the National Population Register, the Home Affairs National Identifica­tion System as well as the Live Capture System,” said acting director-general Thulani Mavuso.

“Our technician­s have the enormous task of the restoratio­n of the systems to ensure that our clients receive services.”
