Wine and book pairing: South Africa’s first wine supported by an augmented reality (AR) app which is taking storytelling to the next level is celebrating National Book Week until Sunday with an intriguing online wine and book pairing competition.

As the ultimate book club wine, Mensa is hoping to get more people reading by calling on book and wine lovers to share great stories by pairing the new Mensa wines with their favourite books. The pairing suggestions will be collated into a Mensa Book List, and all participants stand a chance to win a year’s supply of Mensa wines for their book club or weekend get-togethers.

Mensa is all about storytelling, so choose books you think would be a good match for Mensa Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay/Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Author Amy Heydenrych, one of Mail & Guardian’s 2018 Top 200 Young South Africans, has already set the ball rolling, pairing Mensa Cabernet Sauvignon with her latest book, the addictive psychological thriller titled Shame on You.

Besides the grand prize, signed copies of her book and a beautiful Mensa tote bag are also up for grabs.

To enter the wine and book pairing competition visit: www.mensawines.com Click on any of the social media icons and share your Mensa wine and book pairing using the hashtag #MensaBookList. The competition closes at midnight on Sunday, September 9, and all book list suggestions qualify for the prize draw.
