DUBIOUS POLITICIANS ONLY CONCERNED ABOUT WINNING NEXT GENERAL ELECTION

-

THE unseemly spat, mind-boggling in its insolence from both sides, between Blade Nzimande, Minister of Transport, and the DA’s Cape Town Mayoral Committee for Transport, Brett Herron, over the Prasa crisis is clearly indicative of the low levels of the political discourse and dubious character of politicians besetting our nation.

Economic growth is grinding to a standstill, poverty and unemployment are out of control, education outcomes reflect near illiterate Grade 4s in reading and comprehension, poor communities are daily out on the streets expressing their rage at inept service delivery, the Zondo Commission is unearthing more and more worms crawling out of the corruption woodwork. And yet the body politic has only one strategy, the agenda of the 2019 general elections is to win power and then wreak havoc on the population by corruption, exploitation, thievery and dishonesty.

Where is the Rainbow Nation headed to with buffoons like these in charge? We have a major crisis on our hands with trains burning and poor people not being able to get to work, and instead of the powers that be sitting around the table to seek to address the challenges for the greater good of society, all that matters to them is cheap political point-scoring and unseemly, arrogant posturing.

God help us to save us from this pathetic lot.
