Book tackles communities

- ATHINA MAY athina.may@inl.co.za

THE cycle of gang violence and substance abuse in impoverished communities is the result of trauma brought on by decades of separation, enslavement and the unaddressed ills of apartheid.

So says transformation life coach and author, Earl Albert Mentor, who is launching his book on marginalised

coloured communities called, Cape Flats Karma: Biography Of A Coloured Seed.

Mentor, who was raised in Ocean View, has been a life coach and motivational speak for almost 18 years, after overcoming the scourges of drug abuse and violence permeating his community.

He worked hard to turn his life around and now hopes to use his experience as a community development worker and personal transformational coach to enlighten others on planting the seeds to free themselves from societal injustices.

Mentor’s journey to uplift himself inspired him to create his own life coaching company called Teamrise Life Coaching Seminars and FruitNation, which hosts life skills workshops and seminars.

His book contains stories, personal quotes and worksheets.

● The launch will take place on December 4 at Crysalis Academy in Tokai. Tickets are R150 each and includes the price of the book. For more information, visit www.quicket. co.za/events/61724-cape-flats-karmabocs-book-launch/#/
