No Neeson red carpet

NEW YORK: The red carpet at the premiere of Liam Neeson’s newest film Cold Pursuit was cancelled amid fallout from the actor’s comments about decades-old thoughts he had of killing a black person.

The star revealed he’d had an urge to murder a black person after his friend told him she’d been raped by a man of the same race. The actor, 66, insisted: ‘I’m not racist, this was 40 years ago. I had a primal urge.”

He said he spoke out now to encourage others “to open up – we all pretend we’re politically correct”.
