Something is rotten in the state of SA!

-

OH dear! Oh dear! What has befallen our nation? What has turned our sons and daughters into wanton looters and arsonists with no care for the devastating consequences?

Their mothers cannot get food to feed their siblings; their gogos cannot get their medication; their fathers have lost their jobs.

The damage, the suffering, not to mention the ripple effect from this unspeakable mayhem is too horrific to comprehend.

No No No! This is not the way to heal what truly ails our nation. Something is clearly “rotten in the state” of South Africa!

Something lies deep and sinister in the anger and frustration we see in our people whose hopes were so high with the miraculous birth of our democracy. (How impressed was the world then!)

What have our sons and daughters seen since then? What is the example they were given to follow?

Corruption! Greed! Self-Interest and dare I say looting of our state coffers in such proportion that has all but bankrupted our country and deprived our people of their needs. All this done with impunity and no prosecution or punishment. What message has this sent?

We have failed miserably with what was promised. We have not put right the evils of the past. The majority of our beautiful rainbow nation remain deprived, hungry, unemployed and hopeless.

This must stop! We must find a way to right these ills. Please may this be a wake-up call to find the right ethical and just leadership to get this beautiful country out of this dark abyss and into the light.
