Suspects escape through hole
Three robbery suspects escaped from the holding cells at Primrose police station east of Johannesburg yesterday.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said the suspects escaped at about 1am through a hole in the wall of their holding cell.
“Their escape was discovered when police visited the cells. Police discovered rubble and saw a hole above the toilet,” he said.
He said it appeared that the suspects had used an unknown object to make a hole in the wall. The three, aged between 25 and 28, were arrested for a business robbery, housebreaking and possession of dagga. A manhunt has been launched.
