Steps to a good future

- Great Khayelitsha Regional Organiser of the PAC, writing in my personal capacity

THE PAC has always strived for the unification of Africa from Cape to Cairo, Morocco to Madagascar. This realisation will only be possible if a clear programme of action were developed for the future:

Promoting Pan-Africanism, Black Consciousness, African nationalism, African identity, African scientific socialism.

Repossession of the land of Africans, investment in agriculture by Africans.

Ensuring access to land and effective management of national resources by Africans for Africans. For instance; gold, manganese, copper, coal, diamond, platinum, iron and aluminum.

Naming of streets, prominent buildings, roads, airports, hospitals, colleges and universities after PAC freedom fighters, and building of the monuments in their honour.

Strength campaign of improvement and sustainability of good-quality health care and the fight against fatal disease such as HIV/Aids, TB and others that affect the Africans: the poorest of the poor.

Campaign for the release of Apla cadres from jail.

Campaign for the return of the bones of Apla cadres who died in exile.

King Hintsa was buried without his skull, so the PAC needs to demand the return of his head.

Uplifting and practical use of African indigenous languages.

Provision of free, quality socialist education as the majority of Africans cannot afford expensive education. Fight against unemployment. Ensuring provision of allowance grants of R2 000 (“Umbambasisu” to the unemployed).

Fight against unreasonable food, fuel and electricity increases.

Ensuring that service delivery improved and hastened in recognition of the people in black townships and rural areas.

Ensuring the building of stadiums and promotion of sport in rural areas.

Involve Africans in tourism and other business opportunities.

Bringing about affordable electricity, clean water, sanitation and prosperity for Africans.

Ensuring freedom fighters get compensation for their role in the Struggle, business opportunities, education bursaries, special clinics, food parcels, houses and a better life.

PAC should remember the good strategies of the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s of grass-roots mass mobilisation, rallies, road shows, door-to-door campaigns and the building of political cells for political education.

Ensuring unity and party building in the PAC branches and components structures.

Ensuring PAC branches and component structures put quality figures in the leadership positions; leaders who advance political, educational, economical and cultural values with no fears or favours, showing accountability and discipline.

Ensure Pan-Africanism is a subject in our schools – together with Black Consciousness, African nationalism, African identity, African scientific socialism. PAC must be the voice of the voice of the people by implementing the radical programme. Nyameko Sinandile
