Unfairly treated!

- Morris Gamanye Cape Town

WE, the taxi drivers who operated on phase 1 and the Peninsula area in the Cape Town CBD, were not treated fairly.

Some of us never received any compensation for loss of income.

However, the taxi drivers on line 14 on the deck were paid out. We are not happy about this, as even now drivers who were in the industry for more than 25 years are back on the taxi ranks asking for money to buy bread.

Those who got a chance to work for MyCiTi are still not happy in terms of salaries, warrants of arrest, uniforms and much more. When we approach our taxi bosses, they point at the City and the City points at the taxi owners.

This is something that needs to be sorted out before it is too late for the poor people.
