Madonsela must rise

NOW that Thuli Madonsela is no longer the public protector, I wonder if all those who took part in the Rhodes Must Fall crusade and succeeded in having his statute removed from the grounds of the University of Cape Town (I am still not sure of just who has benefited by such a removal), will now band together to start a campaign called “Madonsela Must Rise”.

If anyone needs a statute built in their honour, it is Thuli Madonsela, and she should have it placed outside Parliament to remind future generations of a very honourable and courageous lady who stood her ground, with much opposition, against corrupt and unethical members of Parliament.

Come on, you Rhodes Must Fall group, if you considered Rhodes to be a rogue and a villain, you must consider Madonsela to be a resolute heroine. Let us see you use your considerable energy; hold a non-stop protest outside Parliament until they agree to erect a statue to honour Madonsela. Kevin Meineke Hout Bay
