No price hike for uprated Duster

- MOTORING STAFF

RENAULT has given its compact Duster SUV a mild makeover, and added some new features without increasing the price of any of the four models in the range.

In August last year Renault announced that South African Dusters would be built in Romania instead of India going forward, and the event coincided with another slight facelift at the time.

But now the Duster also gets minor styling changes in the head- and taillights, together with new black alloy wheels.

All variants now come with redesigned centre consoles, better seat upholstery fabrics, new door panel materials, a self-locking feature, and fresh colour choices; while the base Expression model also gains electric rear windows. Upper Dynamiques also get rear-view cameras which display on the standard 7-inch navigation screen. Engine choices remain as before with either 77kW/148Nm 1.6 petrols, or 80kW/240Nm 1.5dCi turbodiesels available.

Four-wheel-drive is only available in the top dCi Dynamique version. All come with manual gearboxes – five-speeds for petrols and six-speeds for diesels.
