WHAT TO WATCH

Something special from Mighty Hash? There’s been a lot of fuss about Amla the last few days, which is not something he’s comfortable with. The cricket field will be his safe zone and as teammates current and former have said, a ‘big one’ is around the corner. How delicious it would be to produce it on such a momentous occasion. Better consistency from Wayne Parnell The player himself has said it, the bowling coach has said it and yesterday captain said it too - ‘Wayne’s biggest challenge is to be more consistent.’ Parnell says the more he plays the better that element of his game is and he’s been happier with the groupings of his deliveries lately than the pace with which he’s bowled. It’s one thing doing that at domestic level, Test cricket demands even more, it’s a big opportunity for him to deliver. Rabada to bowl very fast at his home ground KG rarely gets a run for his franchise side these days, such is the nature of the cotton wool wrapping job by the medical folk at CSA. With overs under his belt in this series, and on the fastest pitch he’s had all summer - on home ground to boot - can he get to 150km/h at some point? A better fight from Sri Lanka perhaps Angelo Mathews admits he’s tired of repeating himself. He wants his batsmen to contrate better, his bowlers to sustain periods of pressure for longer and just his side to show greater spirit for the fight over the next few days. Will the Joburg public choose a dead rubber over Rory McIlroy? Gauteng officials are concerned about the slow ticket sales and the rainy forecast for the next few days has not helped. Down the road a sporting superstar is teeing it up at the SA Open and by all accounts he’s winning the attention of Joburg’s sports fans. Maybe a hundred from Hash might persuade a few to choose the Wanderers over Glendower...but it’s not looking good at this stage
