THIS week investors’ attention will be on the meeting of the US Federal Reserve today and tomorrow. The US interest decision will be released tomorrow.

Most countries will also release their balance of trade, inflation rate, manufactur­ing and industrial production, retail sales and housing figures. South Africa’s latest retail sales and production data will be announced.

Today: Statistics SA (Stats SA) will publish the January data on mining, gold mining and manufactur­ing production.

Tomorrow: The Bureau for Economic Research (BER) will announce the RMB/BER business confidence Index for Q1 2017. Stats SA will announce the latest retail sales figures for January.
