Eye for an eye is okay

IN RESPONSE to Koert Meyer’s drivel regarding his “Death penalty no-no” – I honestly don’t know whether to laugh or cry when I read Mr Meyer’s letters.

I cannot understand how the man can script such garbage and actually believe it all.

People of his ilk are the reason South Africa is heading for Third-World status (we are almost there anyway).

With murderers living it up at taxpayers’ expense and receiving pathetic sentences, only to venture back out into the real world and commit the same crime again.

Mr Meyer asks “how are you going to kill 18 000 murderers every year?”

I’ll tell you how, Mr Meyer... yes, you apply the lethal injection and make the government pay for it and wipe these savages out forever, so they cannot repeat their evil.

You need to wake up and smell the coffee, Mr Meyer.

How you cannot support the death penalty and justify keeping this scourge alive and not pay for their inexcusable deeds is just incomprehensible.

Murderers, rapists, cop killers must die for their actions, finish and klaar.

Call me a racist, call me what you want, but if any member of my family was brutally murdered I would insist on proper justice, that is the death penalty, failing which, I would certainly take the law into my own hands and happily pay the price for doing so. Damian Ross Vredehoek
