Fairy tale fun for kids at Lilliput

THE Lilliput Children’s Theatre Company will be performing one of their most popular shows, The Ugly Duckling and Other Stories at the Nassau Theatre in the April school holidays. The show will run from April 8-15 at 10.30am. The Nassau Theatre can be found on the grounds of Groote Schuur High School on Palmyra Road in Newlands.

The Ugly Duckling and The King’s New Clothes are two magical stories by the Danish “weaver of dreams”, Hans Christian Anderson.

Filled with colourful characters, this stage adaptation sticks closely to the original fairy tales. Both stories have wonderful lesson: Don’t be judgemental (Ugly Duckling) and don’t be foolish (The King’s New Clothes).

The Ugly Duckling and Other Stories is one of the world’s best loved fairy tales and is adapted and directed by Elton John Duffy, who has been producing children’s theatre and delighting audiences for the past 24 years. The show includes songs from Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber, One Direction, Taylor Swift and Meghan Trainor. The production stars Desle McConney, Ameera Juta, Sinead Donnelly and Elton John Duffy.
