We should implement our religion every day
RAMADAAN is the month when we, as Muslims, acknowledge our closeness to our creator.
This is also known to be the month in which the Qur’an was sent down to the Prophet (peace be upon him) as a guide to mankind to the straight path, to simply distinguishing right from wrong.
Ramadaan is the time when we can ask for forgiveness and a time of redemption. It’s a special month where all our good deeds are taken in and we are given more rewards for it.
For those readers who seek better understanding of the term “Ramadaan”, it’s a special month when Muslims fast, repent and ask for guidance from our creator.
It’s a state of cleansing our souls. It’s also the month when we should strive to do better in every way and make sure our good deeds are done with the right intentions.
Our deeds are weighed and not counted – our good deeds are totalled up by how deep and pure our intentions are, rather than the number of deeds we’ve accomplished.
Everything we do is to prepare us for the life of the hereafter and not to impress anyone besides Allah (SWT).
We should practise and implement our religion not only in this holy month, but in our everyday lives as well.
My brothers and sisters, time is catching up to us. Our time is becoming all closer and our actions are being recorded each day.
“Ramadaan is starving your body but feeding your soul with goodness.”
From my understanding, this quotation means that when we fast, we give up our nutrients and cravings for a greater purpose. We fast because it’s compulsory for Muslims.
It’s a time of purifying our inner thoughts and realisation of what and how a true Muslim/Muslima should be.
We should sympathise with what those less fortunate are going through by not having a meal at times, and it makes us remember that no matter how poor you are, there is always someone more unfortunate.
There are many other reasons why we fast. We were placed on this earth for a reason such as simply worshipping our Lord, and obeying and respecting his rules and regulations, as it is illustrated in the Qur’an. Each day, we are tested and judged by Allah (SWT). We were created to make mistakes, but those who ask for forgiveness are the ones who enter the heavens and praise the Lord sincerely.
This is a beautiful time when we can connect and worship the most.
