Dead baby in plastic

THE body of a newborn baby has been found in a plastic packet under a tree near a shopping mall in La Lucia, uMhlanga, north of Durban, paramedics said yesterday.

“The gruesome discovery was made by an on-site security guard who alerted the Marshall Security emergency contact centre.

“Crisis Medical paramedics were dispatched to the scene and have confirmed the discovery to be the body of a newborn baby,” Crisis Medical paramedics said in a statement.

The scene had been secured and handed over to the SAPS for further investigation, the statement said.
