Terror training camps

YANGON: Myanmar security forces have uncovered evidence that some training camps were secretly being run by terrorists in Mayu Mountain in Buthidaung-Maungtaw area in western Rakhine state, the State Counsellor Office said yesterday.

Three armed attackers were killed during an operation to clear the area conducted by the security forces over the past two days, the office said.

Plotting to control and influence Maungtaw area, the terrorists had killed 34 people including village elders and a librarian, while abducting 22 others, according to the office. Xinhua
