Luxurious lodging without borders

Town Lodge Windhoek soon to join the family

- Sizwe Dlamini

THE TOWN Lodge brand will welcome its 13th family member in the third quarter of this year when the 147room Town Lodge Windhoek opens its doors to guests.

This exciting new hotel in Namibia is part of the City Lodge Hotel’s Group’s targeted expansion into selected capital city destinations in east and southern Africa.

The first Town Lodge was opened by the group in 1990 in Bellville in the Western Cape and the brand has since developed a strong niche for itself in the business and leisure travel markets.

Town Lodge was developed as a selected services twostar brand three decades ago to meet the growing need for quality accommodation in this segment of the market offering great value for money in ideal locations.

Today there are 12 Town Lodge hotels situated in: Bellville, George (Western Cape), Isando (adjacent to Or Tambo Airport), Menlo (Pretoria), Midrand, Roodepoort and Sandton, Nelspruit, Polokwane, Port Elizabeth, Gaborone (Botswana) and Nairobi (Kenya).

Each of these hotels is situated in locations that provide guests with excellent access to major road networks, shopping and entertainment centres, business districts and airports.

This means that they are perfect for both business and leisure travellers.

When the Town Lodge concept was developed, the idea was to offer hotel accommodation with slightly smaller rooms and slightly fewer service offerings and features than the flagship City Lodge brand.

This was to differentiate between the offerings.

Today’s Town Lodge offers a wide range of great facilities and features, such as superb English and Continental breakfasts, an evening bar service, maxi showers, ample bedrooms, free parking, swimming pools and reliable, fast wifi.

For groups booking four rooms or more on Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights, Town Lodge can offer even greater value through the hard-to-beat Team Scheme weekend special.

Then there is also the Spouse on the House weekend special rate for couples staying on Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights.

Town Lodge has built an excellent reputation as a South African brand with Town Lodge Port Elizabeth winning the 2016 Lilizela Tourism Award in the two-star category.

With Town Lodges in Botswana and Kenya, the brand has grown its presence beyond South Africa’s borders and the upcoming opening of Town Lodge Windhoek will further entrench Town Lodge as an African brand.
