ANA launch of new Africa wire service
AFRICAN News Agency (ANA) launched its new wire information service yesterday for South Africans and Africa to share news with the world.
The platform allows business, organisations and individuals to share their news releases with millions around the world.
ANA chief executive Grant Fredericks said the service propelled Africa into newsrooms and boardrooms.
“We are providing African businesses, start-ups and entrepreneurs with a tool that moves them into the global spotlight. Our cutting-edge information dissemination platform empowers Africans to share their own news as frequently and as affordably as possible.”
ANA editor-in-chief, Lindiz van Zilla, said from the very beginning it was ANA’s intention that while the agency started on a South African platform, its focus would be continental and the reach would be global.
“This PR Wire service that we are launching speaks to those goals and ambitions that we really want to take Africa to the world and show the world what we are capable of.
“In the platform, in the design thereof, in the operation, there is a lot of pride in what we are able to achieve, it is home grown and it is homebased.”
The easy-to-use and cloudbased ANA PR Wire is free and visible to access, view and use press releases and anyone can register and receive the information they are interested in at no cost.
The service is also affordable to any business and organisations who want to publish their information and the technology enables contributors to upload their own news, pictures and data effectively, providing them with global brand exposure through ANA’s African and international news partnerships.
Melanie Cheary, ANA head of news and content, said the world needed more information about Africa’s aspiration.”
