Cisco breakthrough in network solutions

- Joseph Booysen

GLOBAL information technology firm Cisco has unveiled The Network Intuitive, intent-based networking solutions that represent one of the most significant breakthroughs in enterprise networking.

The introduction is the culmination of Cisco’s vision to create an intuitive system that anticipates actions, stops security threats in their tracks, and continues to evolve and learn. The system will help businesses to unlock new opportunities and solve previously unsolvable challenges in an era of increasing connectivity and distributed technology.

The launch was announced at The Network Intuitive Roundtable at the V&A Waterfront on Friday.

Cisco’s head of channel for sub-Saharan Africa, Garsen Naidu, said The Network Intuitive allows businesses to remove complexities and give them more automation and is no longer just about connecting mobile devices, it’s about how things in the businesses operation works.

Naidu said human beings, although living in a world of complexity yet have to move at at fast pace. But over the years and over the generations they have always experienced this. “The industrial revolution that we’ve had. How do we deal with it? We find ways through it. We use almost our intuition to understand which way to go. “We try new things, we learn, we adapt, we move forward. Now imagine if we could do that with technology, and today we are going to show you how we use that technology. Now imagine if the network could predict things before they happen and imagine if you could do that across the stack, across the application.” joseph.booysen@inl.co.za
