Increase in headline earnings likely

ADCOCK Ingram said yesterday that it expected to report an increase of between 27 percent and 30 percent in headline earnings a share for the six months to December. “Shareholders are advised that the company expects headline earnings a share for the six months to end December 2017 to reflect an increase of between 27 percent and 30 percent, being 188.6 cents a share and 193.6c a share, compared with the previous corresponding reporting period of 148.6c,” the group said. The group also said that earnings a share were expected to increase by between 12 percent and 15 percent during the period, being 188.9c and 193.9c compared with last year’s 168.9c. Adcock Ingram’s results were expected to be released or about February 21.
