Zuma played monopoly and lost

-

IT’S like a bad joke to read on the front page “Zuma pleads poverty” (Cape Times, March 19), Zuma wanting the State to pay his legal costs in court.

What a cheek, all his criminal activities and scandals committed over the years are well-known.

Books with enough evidence have been published (The Arms Deal in your Pocket by Paul Holden, 2008, The President’s Keepers by Jacques Pauw, 2017) just to mention two.

Millions, or better billions, of rand have been stolen from SA citizens and “wandered” into the pockets of Zuma, his family and cronies.

Pleading poverty, expecting the State to pay the legal costs, again with citizens’ money, is just a bit much to ask.

Simphine Feketha, your uncle played monopoly and lost.

This is the real world, Zuma had been warned, but “giggled” it off.

He thought he was untouchable. Let’s see, with the speed of the courts and lawyers dragging their feet, Zuma might not even live long enough to see the outcome of all the court charges.

Talking about being with the family in retirement; recommendation, the best place would be Robben Island. Ilse Haas Bothasig
