Uitsig needs help

-

YOUR media organisation has carried the story of the situation at Uitsig Secondary School and we appreciate it, the only concern that we have is that the narrative that is being sketched is that it is the old broken down school building only.

The reality is that there are four new functional classrooms, with a staff section that has been repaired.

So the school building where education is taking place is in a good condition. The rest of the school must be repaired, so that it is also functional, and there in lay the problem.

The community argument is that a high school is needed in the area, which is backed by census numbers and the three primary schools in the area.

The narrative that is being sketched plays into the argument of the Western Cape Education Department and it is not the picture of what is unfolding.

Trust you can assist us to remedy this facts. Tony Ehrenreich Cosatu, WC Provincial Office
